MOREHEAD, Ky (Nov. 9, 2019) — The Chaparrals closed the regular season with a sound ground and passing attack in a 21-12 victory over Louisburg (N.C.) College in NJCAA football Saturday afternoon in a neutral-site game played at Morehead State University.
The victory was COD's fourth against fellow community college opponents and pushed their record to 7-4 overall.
Leading 7-0 at halftime, the Chaps outscored Louisburg 14-12 in the second half.
Freshman running back
Lavale Hill had a big day for head coach
Matt Foster's team. He rushed for 88 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown, and fellow running back
Isaiah Nwokenkwo added 76 yards on just 10 carries.
Freshman quarterback and Lexington, Ky., native
Brayden Miller returned to his home state and threw for 165 yards on 10-of-23 passing and two touchdowns.
Jaden Lacy was on the receiving end of two Miller completions for 85 yards.
Lazerick Eatman had two receptions for 42 yards and one TD.
Chase Mendoza had the other TD reception..
Linebacker
Nathan Clark totaled 10 tackles with six solos.
Anthony Fordham totaled nine tackles (five solos), while
Camron Harrell had six solo tackles.
Terryon Liddell had four solos.
The Chaps now await the Red Grange Bowl announcement that is expected Wednesday.
