For the second straight day,
Karen Martini threw a three-hit shutout and the Chaparrals' offense operated on full cylinders in a 16-0 victory over Suffolk College (N.J.) as play continued during the Spring Break trip in Titusville, Fla.

Martini helped herself at the plate with four RBI and three hits, and
Kate Koska added four RBI as College of DuPage improved its record to 3-10 on the season. Martini also scored three runs as the Chaparrals totaled 15 hits against the Sharks.

The Chaparrals scored three runs in the first inning, and put the game completely away when they batted around during their nine-run, three-hit second.

Madison Briggs,
Sarah Crosby and
Alyssa Pham each had two hits.

Martini struck out a season-high eight batters and did not issue a walk. All three hits allowed were singles.

Earlier, the Chaparrals lost 8-0 to Rowan College at Gloucester.
Andrea Richards, Martini and
Kiara Negron each had two hits.

The Chaparrals play St. Louis Community College and Suffolk on Saturday.
