SOUTH HOLLAND — The Chaparrals were handed a pair of one-sided defeats in their nonconference doubleheader against host South Suburban on Saturday, losing 10-2 and 10-2.
The Chaps (6-21 overall) are at Madison College on Monday in a rescheduled N4C Conference doubleheader.
Game 1
Kate Koska (triple) and
Sarah Crosby (single) each delivered run-scoring hits in the first inning, but South Suburban responded with 10 unanswered runs in a game that ended in the fifth.
Ashley Eiermann joined Koska in the extra-base club with a double, while
Kiara Negron had two hits.
Game 2
The Chaps fell behind 6-0 after two innings and climbed back into the game with a two-run third, thanks to
Sarah Crosby's two-run double. Crosby led the Chaps at the plate with two hits, and
Sydney Sturino had a double.
