Kiara Negron starred in the Chaparrals' split at Madison College, driving in four runs in their 6-3 win over the WolfPack in N4C Conference softball Monday afternoon.

The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Chaps, now 7-22 overall and 1-5 in conference.

Earlier, the Chaps lost 12-0 in five innings.

Game 1
Madison took control from the outset, scoring 10 runs in the first inning.
Andrea Richards' two-out single in the third was the Chaparrals' only hit.
Game 2
Negron made sure the Chaparrals gained an early lead, thanks to her three-run double to left that gave her team an early 3-0 lead. She added an RBI-single in the third with the Chaparrals ahead, 5-0. Negron had two hits, and freshman
Gaby Morales had two RBI.
Karen Martini added a double, and on the mound, struck out three and gave up six hits for the victory.
