Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PALOS HILLS — The big hit eluded the Chaparrals' bats during Wednesday's doubleheader against Moraine Valley. They were defeated 7-2 and 2-1 and dropped to 7-24 overall.
 
The Chaps return to N4C conference play Thursday when they play at Triton.
 
Game 1:
Chaps fell behind 7-0 before they broke up the Cyclones' shutout bid. Kiara Negron doubled to left to score Gaby Morales, and Vincenza Zaccaro stole home for a two-run sixth. In the seventh, Ashley Eiermann's RBI double scored Alyssa Pham. The Chaps were held to just three hits. Veronica Swan went the distance, giving up seven runs, but just two were earned.
 
Game 2:
The Chaps suffered a tough loss in the nightcap, as the Cyclones broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth. Karen Martini tied the game on her double to left that scored Negron. Martini had two of the Chaps' five hits. Eiermann and Negron each doubled. Martini struck out six, walked two and allowed six hits.
