The College of DuPage softball team competed in six contests over the weekend, finishing 1-5 in road action.
On April 10, the Chaparrals traveled to River Grove for a doubleheader against Triton College, falling 6-4 and 13-7. Brenna Berkowitz led DuPage at the plate with four hits across the two games, while Julia Colorato drove in five runs. Alyssa Valencik pitched a combined eight innings, recording four strikeouts.
DuPage continued play on April 11 in Oglesby, opening with a 13-9 victory over Harper College. The Chaps never trailed after jumping out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. Following a scoreless second, DuPage added at least one run in every remaining inning, including a three-run sixth to create separation. Ava Forsberg led the offensive effort, going 4-for-5 at the plate. Juliana Covington, Lana Edkin, and Olivia Vasak each contributed two hits. Isabella Andrade earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete game with six strikeouts while allowing eight hits.
In the second game of the day, DuPage fell to Kishwaukee College, 12-1. Olivia Vasak drove in the Chaparrals' lone run, while Alyssa Dubinski and Angelina Tuminello each recorded two strikeouts in the loss.
The Chaparrals returned to Oglesby on April 12 for their final two games of the weekend, dropping contests to Illinois Valley Community College (11-5) and Joliet Junior College (12-2). Jenna Maples provided a bright spot offensively, tallying five hits across the two games against the Eagles and Wolves.
