The big hit eluded the Chaparrals for most of Thursday afternoon in their 10-2 and 5-3 losses to Triton College in N4C Conference play.
 
College of DuPage, now 7-26 overall and 1-7 in conference play, returns to Sark Park on Saturday when it takes on Moraine Valley. First pitch is noon.
 
Triton 10, Chaps 2 5 innings
Alyssa Pham went 2-for-2 and Andrea Richards' RBI-double in the fifth keyed the Chaps' offense in the opener. Triton won the game with a five-run third and followed it up with a four-run fifth. Karen Martini struck out five and did not issue a walk in her four innings.
 
Triton 5, Chaps 3
The Chaparrals grabbed an early 3-0 lead, when they sent seven to the plate with three hits. Ashley Eiermann reached base on a one-out single, and Kate Koska drove her in with a double to right. Koska later scored on an error, and Vincenza Zaccaro offered a two-out double to score Kiara Negron. Martini and Koska each had two hits for the Chaps, who totaled seven hits.
