The Chaps manufactured a nine-run, eight-hit third inning, but it wasn't enough to stop the Bulldogs.
Andrea Richards went 4-for-5 with a double, and
Sarah Crosby and
Kiara Negron each had three hits. The Chaps led 9-6 after three innings, but the Bulldogs scored six unanswered for the victory.
Gaby Morales and
Alyssa Pham each doubled.

Game 2: South Suburban 7, Chaparrals 6
Leading 6-2 through five innings, the Bulldogs again came back with two runs in the third and three in the seventh for the victory. The Chaps totaled 15 hits, with Richards,
Karen Martini, Negron, Crosby and
Vincenza Zaccaro earning two hits each. The Chaps suffered a tough loss as they led 7-4 with one out in the top of the seventh. Martini sustained an injury when she was hit by a hard-shot comebacker. She left the game and Richards came in for relief, who was put in a difficult situation to close out the victory. Â
