Chaps March On

Mike Wagner drove in three runs with two hits and Patrick Doran ripped a pinch-hit home run as the Chaps earned a come-from-behind 7-5 victory over Union County College during continuing play at the Ripken Experience Spring Break tourney Monday in Myrtle Beach.

And then for good measure, the Chaps earned their second victory in as many days over No. 6 Northampton in a 17-5 drubbing.

COD, now 3-2 overall, is off Tuesday and resumes play Wednesday against Salem Community College and Penn State Mont Alto.

Jake Berger struck out one in two innings. Matt Anderson had three strikeouts in two innings of one-hit relief. Adam Scheid earned the victory with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Ian Pickell secured the save, facing five batters in 2/3 of an inning.
