Box Score Three second-half touchdowns, including defensive end Tom Trieb's 43-yard fumble recovery and return, lifted the visiting Chaparrals over host Hocking 21-10 in NJCAA play Saturday afternoon.
 
Quarterback Brooks Blount threw two TD passes, a 47-yarder to Chase Mendoza and a 27-yard pass to Matthew Brown, as COD improved to 5-2 overall heading into Saturday's home game against Liberty Prep.
 
Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.
 
Blount finished 12 of 15 passing for 169 yards without an interception. Jarred Park was 3 of 5 for 27 yards.
 
The Chaps trailed 3-0 at halftime before they got on-track offensively with Blount's strike to Mendoza for a 7-3 lead through three quarters.
 
After Blount and Brown connected for a Chaps' 14-3 lead, Trieb made the defensive play of the game. He forced Hocking QB Tommy Colbert to scramble on an option play and on a bad pitch, Trieb gathered the ball and ran it in for a 21-3 lead in the final quarter.
