For the fifth time this season Drew Gaston scored more than 20 points with a game-high 24 and teammate Amaris Hughes added 11 in the Chaps' 88-55 loss at Kankakee on Saturday in Region 4 men's basketball.
 
The Chaps, now 4-5 overall, play host to McHenry County on Friday. Tipoff is 7 p.m .
 
The Chaps trailed 35-28 at halftime, but poor shooting cost them in the second half. COD hit just 9 of 34 from the field and the host Cavaliers hit 54 percent of their shots in the final 20 minutes.
 
Abram Ross had eight points and Alexie Vlahos and Joel Boasiako each had four.
 
Gaston was solid in his floor game, dishing out six assists along with three steals.
 
Joe Bell led in rebounds with six.
