Marquita Gardner led the Chaparrals with 20 points and 19 rebounds and Makenna Brown added 18 points, but visiting College of Lake County was too strong from outside in handing the Chaps a 69-50 loss in Region 4 basketball.
 
Gardner also had three steals, while hitting 7 of 18 from the floor. Eight of her 19 boards were on the offensive end.
 
Brown played all 40 minutes and also earned a double-double with 13 rebounds. Mykah Berkompas had 12 points with seven rebounds.
 
The Lancers outscored the Chaps, 36-6 on 3-pointers.
 
The Chaps (1-6 overall) are at Prairie State on Thursday.
