The Chaps made their home debut Saturday and proved their strength by overwhelming visiting Gogebic (Mich.) Community College, taking the doubleheader 9-1 and 17-0.

The victories pushed the Chaps' record to 5-1 overall as they now play at Moraine Valley on Wednesday and return home Thursday against Kankakee.

Worth noting: Gogebic, located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, traveled more than 400 miles Saturday morning for the doubleheader.
