Freshman RHP Mike Sullivan dominated in his second effort of the year, striking out eight in six innings as the visiting Chaps took a split from host St. Louis Community College in nonconference baseball Saturday.

In the opener, the Archers dominated in an 11-2 win before the Chaps came back in their 6-2 win. The Chaps, now 2-2 overall, remain in St. Louis on Sunday for a weekend doubleheader finale.

Game 1: St. Louis CC 11, Chaparrals 2
Cam Bailey connected on a solo home run in the second, and Cliff Vickers added an RBI-single in the sixth, but the host Archers secured the victory with an eight-run sixth.
