No. 5 Chaps rout Milwaukee Area TC

Fresh off improving their national top-10 ranking, the. Chaparrals took care of visiting Milwaukee Area TC in N4C and Region 4 softball Tuesday at Sark Park, winning 7-1 and 13-4 in five innings.
 
The Chaps moved up from 10th a week ago to the No. 5 position in the April 12 poll. They are among three Region 4 schools in the poll — No. 1 Rock Valley and No. 6 Joliet.
 
The Chaps (11-5, 4-0 N4C) are at Carl Sandburg on Friday.
 
Game 1: Chaps 7, Milwaukee 1
  • Freshman RHP Amber Dasenbrock earned the victory, striking out 11, walking one batter and giving up six hits
  • She helped her cause with an RBI-triple in the third
  • Paige Jahaske totaled three RBI, wth a two-run singled in the fifth
  • Ashley Eiermann had three hits with an RBI-single in the fourth
  • Carlee Baker and Jahaske each had two hits
 
Game 2: Chaps 13, Milwaukee 4 5 innings
  • Kelsey Warren led with a 4-for-4 game and five RBI
  • Dasenbrock had three singles
  • Vincenza Zaccaro had the only extra-base hit for the Chaps — a double in the third
  • Zacarro, Baker, Sydney Sturino all had two hits
  • Nicole Brace and Sturino each had two RBI
  • Hanah Nickrand threw three innings in the start with two strikeouts and allowing just two hits
  • Reliever Paige Jahaske threw two innings and struck out one
