The Chaps suffered a doubleheader sweep at the hands of host Bryant-Stratton on Sunday, losing 4-1 and 3-2 in Region 4 play.
COD, now 13-17 overall, are off until Thursday when its plays at Morton College. The Chaps begin a four-day, eight-game homestand beginning Thursday against Prairie State.
Game 1: Bryant-Stratton 4, Chaps 1
The Chaps were limited to just two hits in the opener, with singles from
Cliff Vickers and
Cam Bailey.
Jack Oberli had an RBI on a ground-ball in the sixth. Anthony Ranieri went the distance for the Chaps, striking out three, but walking seven.
Game 2: Bryant-Stratton 3, Chaps 2
Seth Borden gave the Chaps a 2-0 lead in the first on a two-run triple. The Chaps had just five hits that included doubles from
Jimmy Heintz and
Nolan Pomatto. The Bobcats scored three runs in the seventh for the win.
