The Chaparrals closed their regular season schedule Saturday, losing 15-1 and 11-10 to visiting Waubonsee in Region 4 baseball.
COD (26-22 overall) awaits the NJCAA Region 4 tournament seedings to be decided Monday morning.
Game 1: Waubonsee 15, Chaps 1
Dan Gusel provided the Chaps' only hightlight with a solo home run in the sixth that prohibited a Chiefs' shut-out victory.
Jack Oberli supplied the Chaps' only other hit -- a two-out single in the first. LHP

Game 2: Waubonsee 11, Chaps 10
Waubonsee built an 11-3 lead before the Chaps closed in, scoring four runs in the sixth and three in the seventh. The Chaps scored four runs on three hits and took advantage of two Chiefs' errors in the sixth. And then in the seventh,
Danny Holloway and
Cliff Vickers each drove in a run.
Nolan Pomatto scored on a wild pitch that brought the Chaps to within a run. Oberlie had three hits and drove in three runs with a solo homer in the first, and Vickers had three hits.
