COD prepared for this upcoming weekend's tourney in Ohio by turning back host Triton 3-1 in Region 4 volleyball Tuesday night.
 
The Chaps were led by Grace Franz's 13 kills in their 25-20, 25-21, 17-25, 25-11 victory over the Trojans. Jessica Juerke just missed on a double-kills match with nine and Alyssa Fountain followed with eight.
 
Serving continues to be a big part of the Chaps' attack as they finished with five aces — three from Emily DeBlecourt, and one each from Franz and Vanessa Silva.
 
COD hit a collective .236 on the night — 41 kills, 15 errors in 110 attacks. The Chaps hit .478 in the opening set (13-2-23) and rode the momentum for the duration of the match.
 
Defensively, Jordynn Stammeyer led in digs with 12 and Fountain had 11. As a team, the Chaps finished 54.
 
Next up for the Chaps is the Owens State Express Invite. They will face the nation's top D3 squad in Owens (Saturday) and also play fifth-ranked Jamestown in their opening match Friday.
 
The Chaps (4-3 overall) return home Tuesday when they face Madison. First serve is 6 p.m.
