Sophomore guard Drew Gaston scored a game-high 16 points, and Derome White and Gerald Tate each added 10 as the visiting Chaps stepped outside of Region 4 play Monday night with a 58-52 win at North Central JV.
 
The Chaps evened their record at 4-4 with their third straight win.  They are off until Sunday when they play at Aurora JV with an 11 a.m. tip.
 
COD took advantage of the Cardinals with a 12-2 run over the final four minutes of the first half and never trailed again.
 
North Central got to within two points, 54-52, with 2:42 left in the game. Gaston stopped the threat with a field goal and Tate created two straight steals and the Chaps eased to the win.
 
Gaston scored 10 in the second half, and Tate added 10 in the final 20 minutes.
