The visiting Chaparrals played their best basketball in the final quarter and earned a 73-69 victory over host Kankakee College on Dec. 10.
 
COD won its second straight and third in its last six games to improve to 3-8 overall heading into tonight's Region 4 game at McHenry County.
 
The Chaps trailed 51-47 through three quarters before finding their stride in the final eight minutes. They outscored the Cavs 26-18 in the fourth for the win.
 
Alyssa Havard scored a game-high 19 points with Mykah Berkompas (17) and Sierra Gibson (12) in double figures. The Chaps shot 25 of 54 from the field (46.3 percent) and scored 17 free throws.
 
Delmarea Willis dealt a team-high four assists, and Gibson and Katlyn Allen each had three steals. Korriana Wilson grabbed seven rebounds with six points.
