Abram Ross added 17 with 14 rebounds, but No. 5 Joliet was too strong as it extended its winning streak to 19 games with a 71-61 victory in Region 4 men's play Tuesday night.

The Chaps (6-14 overall) are at Madison on Thursday, and face Milwaukee Area TC on Saturday at home.

Joliet never trailed, but the game was a two-possession contest for most of the night until the Wolves pulled away. They hit 16 of 17 free throws in the second half despite scoring just 12 second-half field goals.

Down 29-25 at halftime, the Chaps played tough until Joliet broke away with a 9-0 run to lead 40-31 with 15:06 left. COD never got closer than five points of the lead.

Gaston hit 6 of 17 shots but was 7 of 7 from the line. Ross was 7 of 14 from the floor.

Joel Watts led Joliet with 17 points and hit all nine free throw attempts. Jhei-R Jones and Luke Morrow had 15 points each.
