Both Prairie State and the Chaparrals earned one-sided victories Thursday afternoon at Sark Park in Region 4 softball.

The Chaps, 5-7 overall, are at Illinois Central on Saturday and at Carl Sandburg on Sunday.

Game 1: Prairie State 14, Chaps 5 6 innings
The Chaps collected nine hits as
Elena Stevenson (two doubles) and
Paige Jahaske each had two hits to pace their club.
Raquel Procopio had a two-run single in the third that cut the deficit to 10-4. She finished with three RBI and
Kelsey Warren also doubled.

Game 2: Chaps 14, Prairie State 2 5 innings
The Chaps raced to an 11-1 lead and dominated in earning the split. They connected on a five-run, three-hit first, capped by
Paige Jahaske and
Gianna Maida, who each had two-run doubles. Then in the second, the Chaps scored six runs on four hits. Stevenson supplied the key hit of the inning with a one-out, two-run triple, The Chaps scoring ended in the third on
Amber Dasenbrock's three-run homer off the left-field scoreboard. Dasenbrock helped herself on the mound, striking out nine and walking just one in her five innings.
