The top-ranked Chaps concluded their Texas trip Saturday afternoon, splitting their two matches against Dallas-based teams.
 
COD lost to Brookhaven 3-1 and bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Eastfield as it finished 3-2 on its trip.
 
COD, now 16-2 overall, resumes Region 4 play Thursday night at home against Triton. First serve is 6 p.m.
 
Brookhaven 3, Chaps 1
Chloey Myers totaled 12 kills and 14 ½ points, but it wasn't enough as Dallas-Brookhaven took control in its 25-14, 25-16, 22-25, 26-24 victory. The Chaps were held to an .073 attack percentage and were undone with 25 attack errors and eight service errors. Alyssa Fountain added 10 kills and Ava Garcia totaled five blocks.
 
Chaps 3, Eastfield 0
A .275 team attack percentage paid off in a 25-15, 25-22, 25-19 victory in the fifth match of the weekend. Myers led in kills (11) and points (13) and COD threw down nine aces with Jaidyn Tan, Cyd Martinez, and Payton Litney contributing two each. Fountain totaled 11 ½ points with nine kills, two blocks and a team-high 14 digs.

Chaps drop to No. 1
COD fell from the top spot in Division III to No. 2 in this week's NJCAA volleyball poll.

Butler County claims the nation's top spot, followed by COD, Rochester, Central Lakes and Owens. The Chaps own victories over Rochester, Central Lakes and Owens.
