Sierra Gibson all scored 18 points for the Chaparrals, who needed overtime in their 83-78 Region 4 N4C women's basketball victory Thursday night.

The victory ended COD's three-game losing streak and it takes a 4-11, 1-1 record into Tuesday afternoon's home game against Harper College.

The Chaps shot a season-best 48.6 percent (34 of 70) from the field and overcame 29 turnovers for the win. Both Havard and Wilson were 50 percent FGs (7 of 14) and Gibson was 9 of 12 until fouling out with 42 seconds left in regulation.

COD trailed 75-71 with 1:44 to go. A 3-pointer from
Mykah Berkompas and a layup from Gibson gave COD the lead 76-75 with 51 seconds to go.

Gibson then fouled out, sending Mikala Williams to the line for Madison. Her free throw tied the game, but missed the second and had three field goal attempts inside with time running out, but couldn't convert for the win.

COD held the Wolfpack to 1 of 9 shots in OT, while Havard hit a 3 and Wilson hit back-to-back shots for the win.

Berkompas had 14 points and
Katlyn Allen nine.
Morgan Nesemeier added six for COD, which was outscored at the line, 14-5.
