The Chaparrals overcame an 18-point deficit with stirring second-half play and stunned visiting Milwaukee Area TC 63-60 in Region 4 and N4C play Thursday night at PEC Arena.

Katlyn Allen's inside basket with 3:52 left in the third quarter got the Chaps to within six of the lead — 46-40.
Â
The Stormers led 50-42 through three quarters, but the fourth quarter completely belonged to COD. It applied a stingy zone defense and earned its first lead since early in the first quarter on

Sierra Gibson and Havard each scored and COD had its final margin when Gibson scored inside, giving COD a 63-58 lead with 1:01 to go.
Â
Gibson and
Mykah Berkompas shared team-high scoring honors with a game-high 17 points each.
Â
"As poorly as we played in the first half, we completely turned it around and earned a hard-fought win,'' Chaps head coach
Abigail Talley said. "I'm so proud of our fight. We hung in there, played a possession at a time and picked apart the lead. This is the type of game we can hang our hat on for the season by knowing we can come back. The credit goes to the girls. They believed in each other and they should be very proud, because it was pretty dire in the first half.''
