Men's volleyball made its program debut Friday night and the Chaps were extended to five sets, but just fell short against fellow Region 4 foe Bryant & Stratton at PEC Arena.

The Chaps fell 25-21, 16-25, 16-25, 25-16, 12-15 against the Bobcats. They now travel to New York this week when they participate in the Monroe College tourney in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Blake Huberty led COD in kills with 11, and
Ryan Impey and
Kevin Jones each had three services in the 5-set match.

Bo Parker combined on 21 assists and
Olivier Godziszewski led in blocks with five assisted. Impey, Jones and
Michael Lipowski each had one solo block.

Eight ties led off the opening set, and COD broke through with Impey serving at 8-8. The Chaps scored four straight points and held the lead for the remainder of the set … Bryant & Stratton took control in the second by building upon a 13-11 lead with a 5-0 run … In the third, the teams shared the lead five times until the Bobcats broke out with a 6-0 run to lead 14-8 … The fourth featured a 9-1 run by the Chaps that boosted their 9-8 lead to tie the set at 2-2 … In the final set, a back-and-forth battle with nine ties, the last at 12-12, until the Bobcats scored the final three points of the night for the 3-2 win
