The Chaparrals earned their first victory in program history Thursday afternoon after the first day of play at the Monroe College Tourney in New Rochelle, N.Y.
 
COD (1-2 overall) played the host school in the opener, losing 3-0 and then defeated Union College 3-0.
 
Coach Tolis Koskinaris' team takes on Monroe and Passaic County CC today, and finishes the week Saturday morning against Middlesex.

The Mustangs controlled the Chaps throughout, hitting a collective .403 on the attack (36 kills, 9 errors, 67 attacks).
 
Blake Huberty and Stanley Guziec each had three kills for COD, which struggled with unforced errors. It had 22 attack errors with nine service errors on the match.

Huberty paced the Chaps on the attack with nine kills and hit .333 (3 errors in 18 attacks). Fawaz IIlukoma and Bo Parker each had six kills.
 
Setter Phurin Kosumpiinun set up 22 assists and Ryan Impey drew up three service aces.
