The Chaps lost their matches – 3-1 vs. Madison and 3-2 to Rock Valley.

COD completes its regular season Tuesday night at home against Joliet Junior College. The Chaps (20-15) will honor their six sophomores —
Jaidyn Tan,
Cyd Martinez,
Ashley Bylsma,
Abigail Alonzo,
Grace Beacom and
Amanda Leibrock.

And, the Chaps will unveil their 2022-23 LEARFIELD Cup banner, recognizing the Chaparrals as the top junior college athletic program.

Madison 3, Chaparrals 1 (25-22, 18-25, 13-25, 21-25)
Visiting Madison took control in the final three sets, remaining unbeaten against Region 4 opponents this season.

In the opener, COD used a 3-0 spurt after the set was tied at 18-18 and pushed ahead 2-19 on a Tan service ace.

But the final three sets belonged to the WolfPack. In the second set, COD rallied from 14-9 deficit to tie at 14. Madison then called a timeout, regained the lead and held off to tie the match.

In the third, Madison, which trailed 9-4, responded with an 11-0 run and used the momentum to win. The WolfPack never trailed in the fourth and led by as much as 22-11.

Leibrock led COD in kills with 12 and Alvarez 11 and
Josephine Becker nine. Both Tan and Martinez had two service aces and Martinez led in digs with 22. Becker added three block assists.

Rock Valley 3, Chaparrals 2 (25-20, 15-25, 21-25, 25-21, 13-15)
Leibrock again led on the attack with 15 kills and Alvarez added 11 as the Chaparrals found their way late but fell short against the Golden Eagles.

Down 2-1, COD climbed back to tie the match at 2-2 with an impressive rally. Tied at 14-14, COD strung an 8-1 run with a pair of four-point runs to gain control.

In the fifth, seven ties were on the line – the last at 13-13 – before the Golden Eagles scored a pair of consecutive points to win.

Setter
Jaime Volz dealt 44 assists toward COD's 46 kills. Martinez had three aces, and Tan, Grant and Alonzo each had two aces.

Martinez set up 28 digs with Volz adding 15, Tan 14 and Alonzo 11. Becker had four block assists and one solo block. Alvarez had one solo and two assisted blocks.
