No. 12 College of DuPage closed its regular season in style with a convincing 3-0 win over Joliet Junior College on Sophomore Night on Tuesday at PEC Arena.

COD improved to 21-15 as it now waits the Region 4 Tournament that begins Tuesday night.

The Chaparrals controlled the match against the Wolves from the outset, never allowing JJC to lead by more than one point in any of the three sets in favor of COD, which won 25-17, 25-16, 25-17.

Amanda Leibrock led COD in kills with 12 as the Chaps hit .250 (41 kills, 15 errors, 104 attacks).
Josephine Becker was next with nine and
Melissa Alvarez added eight.

In the opener, COD grabbed the lead for good at 3-2, built a lead by as many as eight (19-11) before closing out 25-17.

The second set held five ties early on until COD broke away, beginning at 6-5.

The Chaps, with their 2-0 lead, took the advantage in the final set for good at 8-7.

Jaime Volz handed out 38 assists, Alvarez led in aces (three) and NJCAA leader
Cyd Martinez led in digs with 17.

The Chaps recognized their six sophomores in the final regular-season home match. Honored were: Jaydn Tan,
Ashley Bylsma, Martinez,
Abigail Alonzo, Leibrock and
Grace Beacom, who had six kills.

COD impressed in its final set, hitting .344 (16 kills, 5 errors, 32 attacks).
