No. 1 College of DuPage scored on all three phases of the game in its 56-2 victory over visiting Erie Community College in NJCAA football Saturday afternoon at MacDougall Field.
 
The Chaps improved to 5-1 overall (3-0 vs. Division III teams), while the Kats dropped to 2-3.
 
Wide receiver Fabian Báez caught two touchdown passes, a 25-yarder from Peyton O'Laughlin on COD's opening possession, and the other from 38 yards from Robert Brazziel, on COD's first possession of the second half.
 
Brazziel went on to throw two TD passes and ran for another on the day. He was 5-of-10 for 96 yards through the air, and on the ground rushed for 27 yards on five carries.
 
On defense, cornerback Brandon Vines returned an interception 29 yards for a score, and kicker Christian Casillas had field goals of 35 and a career-high 51 yards as the Chaps were never threatened.
 
Special teams added a blocked punt return from Antonio Rivera of 15 yards, thanks to Jaden McGill's block.
 
COD led 29-2 at halftime with Erie scoring its only points of the game on a safety when O'Laughlin was sacked in the end zone with 12:39 to go in the second.
 
WR Demetrius Kellie closed COD's scoring in the opening half when Brazziel connected on a 28-yard pass with 59 seconds left.
 
O'Laughlin was 10 of 10 passing for 116 yards. Báez led with four receptions for 82 yards.
