The freshman from Wheaton Warrenville South poured in a school-record 47 points as the Chaparrals defeated the Eagles 89-78 in Region 4 men's basketball at PEC Arena.

Meredith's effort broke the school record of 46, set by Perry Jonkeer during a game in the 1967-68 season.

Joe Kuhn said. "We really needed a win and got it tonight. Braylen got on a roll and showed the skills we all know he has. Yet, we had a team win tonight. Our defense, especially in the second half, was a difference maker. We played hard off the glass and passed the ball well. We limited turnovers, as well.''

Meredith scored 18 in the first half, yet the Eagles played well in the first half and led, 49-45 at the break.

COD (6-4, 3-4 Region 4) made its break from the Eagles with 14:23 remaining in the game and down, 61-53. The Chaps orchestrated a 12-0 run in less than four minutes and led 65-61 on a Meredith score with 10:35 left.

On the night, Meredith finished 18 of 27 from the field, nine of 12 from the line with five rebounds and three steals.

COD totaled a 53.2 percent effort from the field, shooting 33 of 62.

COD was masterful controlling the ball with just 11 turnovers on 20 assists. It outrebounded IVCC, 37-35.

Tylon Toliver had 15 points with three 3s and
Michael Glover added 10 with three assists.

John Gray III led in assists with seven, while
Alecio Bonner had four with nine rebounds and four points.
Quentin Schaffer had three assists with seven points.
