Strong second half gives COD the edge

College of DuPage pulled away in the second half from Kishwaukee on Saturday and earned an 81-75 win in Region 4 play at PEC Arena.
 
Finn Walsh and Alijah Nelson each scored 16 points to lead the Chaps, now 13-12 overall entering Tuesday night's game at Milwaukee Area TC.
 
The Chaps found their way inside the arc in the second half, hitting 54.3 percent overall from the floor and a 17-for-26 effort inside of the 3-point stripe.
 
An 8-0 run, capped by Shamaree Brown's in the paint field goal put COD ahead for good, 42-34 with 16:14 to go. They built the lead to as many as 13 when Nelson hit the second of a two-shot foul and COD up 74-61 with 4:13 left.
 
The Chaps built an impressive edge, outrebounding the Kougars 43-29.
 
Derome White gave the Chaps a lift of the bench, hitting 4 of 5 3-pointers for 14 points. Brown and Drew Gaston each had 10.
