The Chaparrals put on an offensive clinic Thursday afternoon, defeating Oakton 16-8 and 16-3 in Region 4 softball.

COD improved to 8-2 and take on Madison College on Sunday afternoon, beginning at noon.

Game 1: Chaps 16, Oakton 8
Freshman
Lindsey Onnezi took matters into her own bat, hitting three home runs, going 4-for-6 with four RBII and three runs scored, and
Carlee Baker and
Cassie Bogacz each homered in the opener. The Chaps, who led 10-6 through six innings, scored six runs in the seventh to win going away. COD totaled 22 hits with
Paige Jahaske,
Raquel Procopio and
Kayla Smiley each with a double and
Abby Collins adding a triple. Jahaske threw five innings and gave up six runs for the win.

Game 2: Chaps 16, Oakton 3 5 innings
Collins totaled five RBI and
Olivia Terek added three RBI with a home run, and gave up three runs on the mound for the win that was called after 5 innings. COD led 13-0 before Oakton answered with two runs in the third. Baker (double) and Bogacz each had four hits. Collins had three hits with a double, and Procopio homered.
