The Chaparrals ended a six-game losing streak against visiting Madison, thanks to Amber Dasenbrock's RBI triple in COD's 7-6 victory in the opener of Sunday's N4C doubleheader.
 
The Chaps earned a split on the day, losing 14-6 in seven innings.
 
COD (9-3 overall) is scheduled to play at Joliet on Tuesday in N4C play.
 
Game 1: Chaparrals 7, Madison 6

• Trailing 6-1, the Chaps got back into the game in fourth by scoring five runs
• Amber Dasenbrock connected on an RBI single
• Kelsey Warren followed and hit a 3-run triple to left
• Lindsey Onnezi then followed with a ground out to the pitcher, scoring Warren from third
• In the sixth, Dasenbrock delivered the go-ahead run on an RBI-triple
• Abby Colllins doubled twice and Onnezi also doubled
• Dasenbrock struck out four for the victory

 
Game 2: Madison 14, Chaparrals 6

• The Chaps, who trailed 6-5 through five, were outscored 8-1 in the final two innings
• Onnezi, Grace Walker and Sierra Gibson each doubled
• Onnezi and Carlee Baker led at the plate with two hits apiece
• LHP Chloe Warren struck out four in seven innings
