Dasenbrock offers near perfection

Sophomore RHP Amber Dasenbrock was one out away from a perfect game as No. 10 College of DuPage took a doubleheader from host Kishwaukee College on Saturday.
 
COD, now 17-7 overall, is at Harper on Tuesday and returns to Sark Park on Wednesday when it plays host to Morton College.
 
Game 1: Chaparrals 2, Kishwaukee 0
  • Dasenbrock gave up just a single and did not offer a walk in her near-perfect bid
  • She struck out nine for the victory
  • At the plate, the Chaps totaled six hits
  • Abby Collins' triple scored Kelsey Warren in the first inning
  • Dasenbrock's sac fly scored Carlee Baker in the fourth
  • Baker matched Collins with a triple
 
Game 2: Chaparrals 12, Kishwaukee 5
  • COD totaled 20 hits and accounted for 11 RBI on the 12-run win
  • Collins led the way, going 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored
  • Cassie Bogacz, Kelsey Warren and Baker each had three hits
  • Baker drove in three runs
  • LHP Chloe Warren went the distance, allowing 10 hits, striking out one and walking one
