Cousineau, Seiber lift No. 12 Chaps past Oakton, 5-3

Jason Cousineau's two-run home run to right-center combined with right-hander Joe Seiber's 7 1/3-inning outing gave the 12th-ranked Chaps a 5-2 victory over fellow Region 4 and D3 foe Oakton on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Chaps improved to 28-12 overall, their most wins during head coach Bobby Wilson's now five years at the helm. They'll take their 17-5 home record into Friday's doubleheader against Illinois Valley. First pitch is 2 p.m.

  • Seiber gave up four hits over his 7 1/3 innings, allowing just two runs (one earned)
  • He struck out five and issued three walks (only one through six innings)
  • He retired the side in order in the fifth and sixth innings
