The Chaparrals played Waubonsee tough Tuesday night but could not overcome the Chiefs in a 3-0 loss at PEC Arena in Region 4 play.
 
COD, now 6-6 overall, plays at South Suburban on Wednesday.
 
The Chaps faced a 12-3 deficit in the first set and trailed after the opener, 25-18.
 
In the second, COD clawed back after trailing 15-11. With Cyd Martinez serving, the Chaps scored five straight points and led 17-15. But Waubonsee (2-6) regained the lead and after two ties, the Chiefs built a 21-20 lead and won 25-23.
 
In the third, the Chaps were down 5-0 before answering with 10 straight points and eventually led 22-19 before Waubonsee outscored COD 6-1 down the stretch.
 
Sophomore Amanda Leibrock led in kills with 13 for COD, which hit 34-16-104 for .173. Josephine Becker added seven kills.
 
Sophomore Ashley Bylsma delivered 23 assists and Martinez contributed five service aces with a team-high 16 digs. Becker led in blocks with one solo and three assisted.
