Chaparrals fall 95-81 against Olive-Harvey

Greg Strong scored a team-high 18 points and three others scored in double figures in COD's 95-81 loss to visiting Olive-Harvey in Region 4 men's basketball Thursday night at PEC Arena.

The Chaps lost for just the second time in seven games and take an 11-7 overall record into Monday afternoon's home game against the Olivet Nazarene JV.

Tip is 3 p.m.

The Panthers took control early in the second half, scoring 10 straight points in less than four minutes after the two teams went into halftime tied at 42-42.

COD, which never led in the final 20 minutes, got as close as seven of the lead, 82-75, with 5:25 left.

However, Olive-Harvey responded with a 7-0 spurt to dash any type of Chaps' comeback.

Strong hit four 3-pointers, and John Gray III, who totaled 16 points, added three treys. Braylen Meredith added 14 points — all in the second half — and Tylon Toliver scored 13.

Olive-Harvey outscored the Chaps 26-13 on points off turnovers after creating 20 COD turnovers.
