Wire-to-wire victory

Freshman Greg Strong scored a season-high 26 points and Braylen Meredith added 14 as College of DuPage dominated from beginning-to-end in its 84-57 victory over visiting Wilbur Wright in Region 4 men's basketball Saturday afternoon.

The Chaps improved to 13-8, 8-7 Region 4 as they now prepare for Tuesday night's game at Madison College. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m.

COD led from the outset, grabbing a 20-10 lead with 11:45 left in the first half on a John Gray III basket. Over the next four-plus minutes, the Chaps scored 10 unanswered points and led at halftime, 43-21.

Strong gave COD held its largest lead at 66-35 on a field goal with 10:41 to go. He finished with six 3-pointers, four in the first half.

"We kept our intensity from beginning to end,'' head coach Joe Kuhn said. "We didn't have any type of lull that impacted the game.''

COD had 23 assists with Ben Zielinski leading with six, and Jayden Dean and Strong each with five.

Dean led with 10 rebounds with two steals and a block.  Strong had seven boards.
