It took less than five minutes into Saturday's game between No. 1-ranked College of DuPage and visiting Hocking to show the Chaparrals had the game completely in control.

The three-time defending NJCAA champion scored three touchdowns in the game's first 4 minutes and 55 seconds and went on to humble the Hawks 70-6 on Saturday at MacDougall Field.

COD (7-1 overall) travels to Division I Sussex (N.J.) Community College on Saturday.

Freshman quarterback
Justin Bland threw for five touchdown passes and running back
Jamareon Dale rushed for a pair of TDs to highlight the afternoon.
COD rolled on offense, gaining an unbelievable 702 yards of total offense. Bland threw for 393 yards on 18-of-23 passing. Thirteen of his 18 completions were of 10 yards or more.
Dale led in rushing with 69 yards on 11 carries and
Michael Cervantes gained 64 yards on 10 rushes.
Gaston led in receiving yards with 134 yards and seven receptions. Bone was right behind with 123 receiving yards on five receptions. White gained 70 yards on three receptions and
Ian Poston caught three passes for 45 yards.

COD scored on its first possession with Dale scoring from the 6 that capped a five-play, 75-yard drive that took just under two minutes.

Hocking went three-and-out on the ensuing possession, and COD make the Hawks pay when Bland connected on a 63-yard TD pass to Bone on a scoring drive that took just two plays and COD led 14-0 at the 11:11 mark.

COD then added to the scoring flurry on a blocked punt from
Ernest Temple, who picked up the ball at the Hocking 8 and scored.

And just like that, COD led 21-0 with 10:05 to go in the first.

"We preach to control the things that we can control,'' head coach
Matthew Rahn said. "When maybe there's a call that goes against us, or the discipline of the other team; we can't control that. We are a difficult team to play against when we stay focused and play hard one play at a time for four quarters.

"That's the effort we got today. Our kids played hard for four quarters and stayed together.''

COD finished the first quarter up 28-6, closing the scoring on a 26-yard strike from Bland to WR
Ethan Quaye with 3:11 left.

COD added two touchdowns in each of the remaining three quarters.

The Chaps were so efficient on the afternoon that they did not even attempt a punt. All told, 10 Ten scoring drives and two drives that ended on an interception.

Dale added his second TD and Bland connected on a TD pass to
Deszmund White and COD led 42-6 at the half.

In the third, Bland threw touchdowns of 27 and 46 yards to
Daion Gaston.

Michael Cervantes scored from five yards in the fourth and back-up quarterback
Mike Hein threw a 5-yard TD to
Dylan McDonnell in the fourth.

On the season, COD outscored Hocking 119-18 in their two games with the Chaps earning a 49-12 win in September.
