Skylar Huffman's 12 kills, decisively defeated vistiing Joliet Junior College 3-0 in NJCAA Region 4 women's volleyball Tuesday night at PEC Arena.

The victory improved COD's records to 18-14 overall, 14-5 Region 4 and 6-0 in Region 4 D3 play.

The 25-22, 25-22, 25-19 victory demonstrated COD's ability to close out late. In the opener, the Chaps broke away from the Wolves with the set tied at 16-16.

JJC then led 19-11 in the second before the Chaps got back on track. With
Jayde Grant serving, COD earned six straight points that included two service aces from Grant. COD tied the set at 20-20, then forged ahead 23-20 with a pair of aces from
Camila Fundora.

In the third, the Chaps and Wolves were tied at 4-4 and with Grant serving, she added three more aces in an improbable 8-0 run and COD comfortably led for the duration.

Alexandra Hornbogen added eight kills and
Josephine Becker had five.

Grant finished with six aces and Fundora added four.

Ava Diaz provided 23 assists, while
Francesca Brandonisio and Fundora had 13 and 11 digs, respectively.

On the block, COD totaled four block assists.

The Chaps return to PEC Arena on Thursday night for their regular-season and home finale. They will honor their eight sophomores — Becker,
Daia Neerhof Rodriguez, Fundora,
Rory Geroux, Grant,
Jillian Ross,
Christina Savaglio and
Alyssa Schillaci.
