Pair of 20s is not enough

Freshman guard Ramone Enis and sophomore forward Braylen Meredith each scored 20 points and freshman Payton Moore added nine, but host Black Hawk College was a tough opponent to overcome in COD's 77-72 loss in NJCAA Region 4 men's basketball Thursday night.

The Chaps, now 3-2 and 2-2 Region 4, play host to McHenry County on Thursday night and home against Indiana Northwest JV on Nov. 23.

The Braves built a 39-31 halftime lead and the Chaps pulled to within a point of the lead with 40 seconds remaining, but couldn't break through.

Stephen Reed led Black Hawk (4-1, 2-0) with 24 that included 12-of-14 free throws. Teammate Dion Doyle followed with 21.
