No. 1-ranked College of DuPage finished the regular season Saturday much like any other of its victories this season, punishing host Community Christian 63-0 in NJCAA football.

The Chaps (10-1) now await Monday's NJCAA announcement for the National Championship. The three-time defending champion COD will take on either Louisburg (N.C.) or North Dakota State College of Science in the title game, set for Dec. 7 at College of DuPage.

Freshman quarterback
Justin Bland threw for 250 yards on 14 of 25 passing with five TDs, and running back
Ernest Temple scored three TDs on six carries for 60 yards in the one-sided blowout in Motown.

The Chaps rolled up 50 yards of total offense with an even split between passing yards and rushing yards (251).

Jamereon Dale added the other rushing TD for COD and finished with 59 yards on five carries.

Bland connected on scores with WRs
Jacob Zarek,
Willie Feagin,
Ian Poston, and
Deszmund White and also threw a TD to Dale.

Bland finished the regular season with eye-popping passing stats. He is 173 of 269 for 2,934 yards, 36 TDs and just five INTs. His passing efficiency is 196.4.

Sophomore All-American kicker
Christian Casillas kept his phenomenal season in check. The Alsip native converted on all nine of his PATs and he now takes a perfect 56-of-56 slate into the title game. He is 11 of 15 on field goals with an NJCAA record-tying 62 yarder to his credit.

The Chaps won by a combined 113-0 in their two games against Community Christian.

Defensively, linebacker
Ja'Mycheal Towns earned the team's only interception of the day (12 yards).
Haiden Janke,
Marques Boddie and
Willie Feagin each had fumble recoveries.

Boddie had seven solo tackles, one sack (9 yards) and picked up 13 yards on tackles for loss (2 ½).

Cole Hamilton totaled eight tackles,
Michael Tringali seven,
Jamari Jefferson seven.

On the season, COD averages 52.9 points on offense and allows just 13.2 points a game.
