No. 3 South Suburban showed its strength in the second half of Thursday's game at College of DuPage, handing the Chaps a 93-68 loss in Region 4 men's basketball at PEC Arena.

The Chaps, now 16-13 overall and 11-12 Region 4, are at Harry Truman on Thursday night to conclude the regular season.

COD played the nationally ranked Bulldogs tough in the first half, relying on the long ball and closing the half 39-34 on
John Gray III's second 3-pointer just before the break.

COD outscored the Bulldogs 15-3 on 3s in the opening 20 minutes.

SSC, though, amped up its game to begin the half. The Bulldogs built a 60-43 lead seven minutes in and the Chaps couldn't climb back.

Jemel Jones led SSC with 34 points and 16 rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 61 percent from the floor in the second half and finished 52.8 percent for the game (38 of 72).

Gray III led COD with 17 points.
