College of DuPage utilized its depth Tuesday night, playing all 17 Chaps in their 3-1 victory over visiting South Suburban in Region 4 volleyball.

COD snapped its two-match losing streak and takes an 8-4 overall record and 5-0 Region 4 record into Thursday night's match at Waubonsee (1-5).

The Chaps earned a 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-18 victory over the Bulldogs. Down 7-5 in the opener, COD strung a 7-0 run to take command and pushed the lead to as many as nine at 22-12.

In the second, COD broke away from a 6-6 tie and grabbed the lead for good building a 15-8 lead.

A three-set sweep looked probable when COD jumped out front 19-12 in the third. The Bulldogs did not go away quietly, fighting back with an impressive 10-1 run for a 22-20 lead.

COD pushed aside any hope of a five-set night, breaking away from a 17-17 tie in the fourth and closing on an 8-1 run.
