The College of DuPage women's volleyball team, ranked No. 4 in the NJCAA Division III rankings, swept Region 4 opponent South Suburban Community College, 3-0, on Oct. 1.
The Chaps (14-9) outpaced the Bulldogs with set scores of 25-16, 27-25, 25-18. In the second set, DuPage rallied from an 18-10 deficit to maintain momentum the rest of the match.
Megan Daca led the Chaps with 11 kills, while
Isabella Furmanski added 9.
Jaime Volz and
Ava Diaz split the setting duties with 17 and 10 assists, respectively. Daca and
Amani Harrington each recorded 2 service aces.
On defense,
Frankie Brandonisio collected 12 digs and
Claire Rambasek added 8. At the net, Furmanski registered 3 block assists.
"We did a good job grinding out against a scrappy South Suburban team, and it's nice to see us keeping our focus," head coach
Tolis Koskinaris said.
DuPage continues play Oct. 2 in a road match at Harper College in Palatine, Ill.
