Men's Soccer to host first round of Region IV Tourney

The College of DuPage men's soccer team, boasting a 9-4-2 record on the regular season, earned the right to host a playoff matchup Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Chaps have enjoyed a dynamic offense this season, scoring 40 goals over the course of their 15-game campaign. Jason Hufnagle leads the team with 13 goals, while Luis Gutierrez has added three goals and a team-high nine assists. DuPage also features a two-headed monster at goalkeeper, with Diego Ochoa and Sam Eaton splitting time this season for a combined save percentage of .721.

DuPage is 7-2-1 at home this season and will take on McHenry County College in the first round of the NJCAA Region IV Tournament. The Chaps took down McHenry on Sept. 25 1-0. With another win over the Scotts, DuPage will advance to the tournament quarterfinal in Madison, WI.

It's an excellent opportunity to come support the Chaps as they compete in postseason play. The men's team is enjoying its most successful campaign since 2017.

Head Coach Matt Hanna and assistant Mike Bona have worked tirelessly to restore the standard of past COD teams. Bona expressed confidence in the group's mindset heading into the first round, stating, "We are excited to see all our hard work throughout the season pay off and make the playoffs."
