The Chaparrals pushed their record to 6-0 after earning five straight-set victories over East Coast men's volleyball junior college foes Friday through Saturday in New Rochelle, N.Y.
 
COD defeated both Monroe (Bronx) and Monroe (New Rochelle) on Friday, earned two victories against Union (N.J.) and Atlantic Cape (N.J.), and then finished the three-day tourney with a 3-0 win over Nassau (N.Y.).
 
The Chaps are at Region 4 foe Bryant and Stratton on Tuesday night at UW Milwaukee (Waukesha). First serve is 6 p.m.
 
"Making a trip to New York and receiving the type of effort from the guys comes down to being focused and ready to play,'' head coach Tolis Koskinaris said. "We got a great group effort all weekend long where we played a lot of our guys against other JC programs. That kind of event lets us know where we're at. It was a good weekend and we need to continue to build upon it.''

Koskinaris singled out the play of sophomore setter Nathan Perez.

"Nate makes smart choices,'' he said. "He's an even-keel guy. Nate sets the tone.''
