The College of DuPage men's volleyball team capped another outstanding season by finishing third at the 2026 NJCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship Tournament.
Top-seeded DuPage opened tournament play April 23 with a dominant 3-0 victory over No. 8 seed Monroe University Bronx by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-13.
The Chaparrals hit .400 as a team in the victory.
Brayden Tejeda led the offense with 10 kills, while
Luc Neczek and
Lance Mueller added eight kills apiece.
Max McDermott recorded 32 assists and three service aces, and
Nicholas Ockrim totaled 11 digs.
DuPage advanced to the semifinals April 24 against No. 5 Finger Lakes Community College. The Chaparrals fell 3-1 by scores of 17-25, 22-25, 25-19 and 20-25.
Danny Overlin led DuPage with 12 kills. McDermott added 32 assists, while Ockrim recorded 10 digs. Overlin and
Jahir Lopez each contributed seven digs.
The Chaparrals bounced back April 25 with a 3-0 sweep of Nassau Community College in the third-place match, winning 25-21, 25-22 and 25-21 in a rematch of last season's national invitational championship.
Overlin starred again with 19 kills. Tejeda and Neczek each added eight kills, while McDermott directed the offense with 42 assists. Ockrim led the defense with 17 digs, and
Max Sobus totaled three block assists.
DuPage finished the season 29-3 overall with a .906 winning percentage and a 10-1 record at home.
The Chaparrals also earned several postseason honors.
