The College of DuPage men's volleyball team hosted the JV squad of Governor's State on March 25 at the PEC Arena in Glen Ellyn. DuPage earned a sweep over the Jaguars (25-19, 25-17, 25-17), extending their win streak to 10 matches and moving to 21-2 on the season.
Danny Overlin led the Chaparrals' attack with 13 kills, followed closely by Adam Janowiak with 12. DuPage had an efficient night offensively, posting a .341 hitting percentage. Max McDermott directed the offense with 35 set assists, while Adam Sanchez, Overlin, and Max Sobus each recorded a service ace.
Defensively, Nicholas Ockrim was a force for DuPage, finishing with 15 digs. McDermott added nine digs, and Coady Seidler contributed seven. At the net, Sanchez and Matthew Pemberton each tallied two solo blocks.
Head coach Tolis Koskinaris commented after the contest, "We did a really nice job tonight playing a quality program, with an efficient offense and defense that allowed us to go 3-0."
DuPage will head to New York this weekend for a tournament at Finger Lakes Community College. The Chaparrals will face familiar opponents in Nassau, Finger Lakes, Monroe Bronx, and Monroe New Rochelle — all teams DuPage has previously defeated this season.
